The clinic was established in September 2000
by Dr. Joe Prichard, a native of Ellington. 
Dr. Prichard earned a Bachelor of Arts in zoology at Miami University and a Bachelor of Science in animal science at the University of Connecticut.  He also attended  post-graduate studies in reproductive medicine at the Louisiana State University before attending veterinary school.

Dr. Prichard graduated Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993 and practiced both mixed animal and companion animal medicine and surgery in New Hampshire and Massachusetts prior to returning to Ellington.

Laurie Ann Brown, DVM
Laurie Ann Brown, DVM is an associate veterinarian at the Ellington Center Animal Clinic.  Dr. Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science at the University of Massachusetts prior to earning her veterinary degree at The Ohio State University in 2002.  Dr. Brown sees all companion animals and has a special interest in exotic pets, including birds and reptiles.

Leah J. Greenberger, DVM
Dr. Greenberger joined the Ellington Center Animal Clinic as an associate veterinarian in April 2009.  Dr. Greenberger grew up in western Pennsylvania before attending Cornell University where she earned both her undergraduate degree (1988) and her doctorate in veterinary medicine (1992).  Dr. Greenberger practiced in Maryland and Virginia before moving to Massachusetts in 1999.   Dr. Greenberger has extensive experience in emergency and critical care of all companion animals, but admits that her first love is general practice.  She enjoys horse racing and horseback riding, as well as reading and learning yoga.   Dr. Greenberger also sees birds and reptiles as well as companion animals.

Susan B. Cleary, DVM
The Ellington Center Animal Clinic is pleased to welcome back Susan B. Cleary, DVM as a part-time associate veterinarian.  Dr. Cleary has worked at ECAC since Dec. 2006, but has recently been on family leave after the adoption of her son, Biruk.    Dr. Cleary earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Dartmouth College prior to earning her veterinary degree at Cornell in 1986.  Dr. Cleary sees all companion animals and particularly enjoys working with house rabbits and senior cats.
